This is an Octet Trading Smartcard. It’s your passport to the Octet network. When your overseas buyer wants to place an order with you, they contact you through Octet. To verify your identity, you simply swipe your card into your Octet card reader, which is linked to your computer and the internet. We provide your card reader free of charge when you become an Octet Member.
Your status is immediately verified and you and your overseas buyer negotiate the order. Octet checks that your overseas buyer has sufficient credit to cover the order and the order can then be agreed. As soon as you have fulfilled the terms of the order, you are paid by Octet.
Gaining access to the Octet network requires your Octet Trading card plus a password, so no-one can use your Octet account unless you give them permission to do so.
No other parties are involved in an Octet transaction other than your own business and your overseas buyer, communicating through the Octet network. There are no more communication issues between your bank and your buyer’s bank.
